Hungunda Horticulture Farmers Producer Company Limited empowers farmers through sustainable agriculture, ensuring food security, environmental preservation, and rural upliftment. It provides essential farm inputs, operates Custom Hiring and Common Service Centers, and promotes organic farming through awareness programs.
Established on 2nd July 2018 under the Companies Act, 2013, with support from Farmers Interest Groups (FIGs) and the Horticulture Department, the company enhances farmer livelihoods through training, value addition, and direct market linkages. Based in Bagalkot, Karnataka, it comprises 50 FIGs cultivating diverse crops like Chilli, Onion, Pomegranate, and Millets. The company addresses challenges like water management and market fluctuations through training and resource support. Hunagund, receiving 620 mm annual rainfall, benefits from the Malaprabha River and Ramtahl Drip Irrigation Project. A group of young, like-minded farmers drives its commitment to sustainable agriculture.
